The short review is this is a great quality product. The case is well organized and comes with every thing needed to repair tire leaks and flats due to holes and damage less than 1/4 inch in the tread.
The BEST tire puncture repair system I have used
on September 15, 2009
I Have owned this set (or rather it's predecessor that does not include the blow molded box) for at least 15 years. I was first introduced to this kit when I started working in a auto repair shop and all I can say is that there is nothing that compares. Yes, this kit is a little expensive compared to what you can find at the local auto mart, but the quality and ease of use is unbelievable (more on that later). Most recently, I patched a tire on my car without jacking up the car, removing the wheel or even deflating it, I just found the puncture, rolled the car back so that I could access the area and laid down and worked on it remember to chock the other wheels, safety first). The tools are all very high quality and have never failed me. I have bought additional plugs, but have never had to replace any of the tools. This kit must have gone through at least 100-150 plugs without any loss of performance.

I've owned one of the older kits but when I wasn't looking one day, it walked away. The one I have now is much nicer and has it's own carrying case. The last time I used I was at a rest stop on the way to Las Vegas, got out and noticed a nail in my tire. I sprayed some window cleaner around it and watched it slowly bubble, indicating a slow leak. I used the safety seal to plug the tire. When I was done I checked and found the tire was about 5 pounds less than the other 3. I took my time getting to the next gas station, checked for leaks again (none), filled the tire up to the proper pressure and I was on my way. This was probably the 50th time I'd plugged leaks from nail, screw, etc., holes and it always worked as a permanent fix. Now I carry the kit along with a small 12 volt air compressor in case the punctured tire needs more pressure in it to drive after the fix. These things are great. Look at the instructions and then go to Youtube.com to see a video on how to use the kit. I recommend keeping a small needle nose pliers in the kit for pulling out nails, screws, etc.

I've used Safety Seal for twenty years. I have tried the cheapo brands in the blister packs at the auto parts store, and a good number of the off-road specific kits. I always end up coming back to Safety Seal. The tools are perfect for the task and will last forever. I have one of these kits in every off-road truck I own.
Best plugs on the planet.

Best plugs on the planet. Gentle reamer that doesn't grind at the broken cords. Only plug I know of that comes with lube for those really tiny holes or those very, very strong tires (you can also use it on the reamer, just be sure you don't create a 2nd hole in the tire liner or the plug won't work).
Built to last forever!

The quality of the product is top notch, comes with everything you need to perform all tire puncture repairs yourself. Very easy to handle the tools. Built to last forever. I wish everything was made in the USA. Well worth the money.
Safety Seal 30 String Pro Tire Repair Kit
on January 17, 2014
I've carried this Safety Seal tire plug kit in my vehicle for many years and along with my little 12-volt air compressor it has saved my bacon countless times in addition to saving more hours of grief than I could ever explain from jacking vehicles, removing wheels and schlepping to and from the tire shop. I actually needed to use this plug kit again just a few days ago, for the first time in years, to fix a nail hole in my truck's tire. It was a little bit of a re-learning experience, which was a surprise since I used this kit what seemed like every other day for several years running, but within a few minutes it all came back to me. I've always bought the actual Safety Seal tire plugs and the one I recently installed was probably ten years old, but still like new because I always kept them stored in an airtight plastic Ziploc bag. The day I made the repair it was below freezing outside so I warmed the plug with a heat gun to soften it before threading onto the insertion tool and installing. I find that these plugs are generally easy to install, although you sometimes do need to a little forearm muscle, but I'm sure most people could handle it. Overall, even though it is more expensive than similar kits from other manufacturers, I think this plug kit was a very good value and feel that one should always be kept in every vehicle along with a 12-volt compressor.
Save $ and do it yourself!

Worked perfectly! I had a large roofing nail in my front truck tire. I was losing about 3-4lbs of pressure per day. I wanted to avoid having the tire removed for fear of it not getting balanced properly again, so I opted to use a plug and "do it myself".
Great kit with a bit large of a (quality) case to stay in the trunk...

This is a high quality kit, made in USA, with great tools. I wish it was packed a bit smaller so it could be more easily stored in a car trunk.
